Related to the work of the Newark Museum's educational loan collection was the establishment of several "branch museums" between 1929 and 1969. During this period, the staff created temporary displays for the benefit of residents who could not easily travel to the museum. Established in 1926 to coordinate the needs of local schools with the services offered by the docents, the Education Office grew to encompass the Junior Museum, Arts Workshop, and Educational Loans departments.
